Can I drop theft charges?

I was charged with a class b misdemeanor theft from a store in Texas and I have already gone to court for it. I have pleaded guilty but I am about to start my process for a pretrial diversion, but the pretrial diversion requires me to wait 3 years until I can clear it off my record. I am hoping to go to graduate school and cannot if I have this on my record until then. Is there anyway that I can get the prosecutor to drop the charges at this point after I have pleaded guilty so I can clear it from my record asap?
