Do I have to pay a walmart fine?

Ok so I didnt shoplift but walmart said I did. I went through a diversion program and my court worker said I didnt have to pay the fine OR go to court, the case was closed and they couldnt make me pay the fine. Do I still have to pay it? I emailed the lawyer saying what the court worker said and they said I still had to pay to cover the losses, but what losses did they get if I didnt shoplift to start with?
