What will happen when I'm put on diversion?

Me and my girlfriend were caught shoplifting and we are both being set up with diversion (with the same diversion officer). I am 17 and she is 16 and she lives with me and my family due to her own family problems. Will the diversion officer not allow us to have contact with each other while we are on diversion and make her go back home since she can not legally live with us but her mom gave her permission?
