Are my chances for Force Recon doomed?

I need a drug waiver, there's no way around it, I was charged with possession and I'm currently on diversion (NOT PROBATION). Even though diversion will expunge the charge from my record at successful completion, the USMC WILL know and I WILL need a waiver just to join the corps. My recruiter said getting a waiver to join the marines is no biggie, but getting a waiver for recon is a whole different ball game. Any thoughts?
