Scene haircut? How do do it.. (epically!)?

Helooo people! I'm Samarra and I'm 13. I have always wanted to have a scene/ emo haircut.. you know? the ones with it short at the top and longer at the bottom? Well idk if this would help you, but i am German & African American, but i have "white people" hair that is curly. not like an afro, just normally curly. my mom does hair for a living. i told her i wanted an emo/scene haircut... but idk how to explain it to her? HELP IS APPRECIATED! :D
