What does a diversion mean? in Australia HELP ME?!?

It is Comm service. I committed a v minor offense when I was 19 in England and was put on probation. They let that go as I got a teaching post in a different country. Years later I was on Jury Service, all well and good. Then I had to defend myself in court of a false accusation.I was acqitted 100%. They say that legally records of minor infringements are deleted after & yrs but my early misdemeanour was in the police file still though it didn`t come into the Court hearing.I haven`t been callled to Jury Service since then THough.But I think it makes a difference (positive)that you are, relatively, a minor.
